Shooting the sunrise challenge. I surveyed my area with Google Maps using the satellite mode and found a spot with farms along a country road. I drove about 15 miles and wow, it was perfect with an old barn, another smaller old barn and this wonderful tree. I got lots to choose from and that may not be good in the end because I have a bad habit of choosing the wrong one to enter. :|

LOl you're telling me what though? I will be the only one with a building in his sunset shot? Or are you going to vote down any image with a building in it? My shot will also include a star, clouds and orangey colours that fade going upwards like a gradient effect.

I'm screwed now aint I. ;)

We are trying to tell you that you should never give away anything about your shot prior to or during voting on a challenge. But I guess you aren't listening since you just gave more information about your shot.

Just my opinion, probably not worth too much, but I would edit those two posts and remove anything that may lead to identifying your photo.

Canada isn't the only place with old barns ;) Although I didn't think Google Maps had made it up to the great north yet! :P

Man, I love using Google Maps. I do it all the time when planning photo outings. I then use Stellarium to know when and where the sun will rise and set. Done it multiple times and it's the only way to do it if you are travelling 2+ hours and are trying to shoot a new location with limited time.
