Oh yeah, I did comment once about the old farts at work that, when given the option of three empty stalls, go right for the one in the middle.

Obama is an idiot who is now going back on his year long promise to sock it to the man and raise corporate income taxes. He is chicken. He put his people in place and they told him that it would be disasterous to raise ANYONE'S taxes in our current situation. He caved and now says he will postpone the increase.
Promises...promises...campaign on the issue and then back out after you've won. That is CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN.!

Better move it to the rant thread. The uncanny brilliance of some of us can see politics even in the thanksgiving turkey... or perhaps some of us are morbidly frustrated and cannot keep a good thread in the line? ;-)

| Thank you all. You have restored my faith in mankind. As we settle around the table to eat the genetically altered hormone fed bird this thursday let's try and remember that we are all in the same boat we call humanity. Festivus got it's start when a man named Frank decided he was tired of all the commercialism of the Christmas holidays.
He was in a store one day buying a doll for his son. As he reached up, someone else grabbed for the last doll. As Frank rained blows upon him with the doll he decided that "there must be another way"...and Festivus was born.
The holiday includes novel practices such as the "Airing of Grievances", in which each person tells everyone else all the ways they have disappointed him or her over the past year. Also, after the Festivus meal, the "Feats of Strength" are performed, involving wrestling the head of the household to the floor, the holiday only ending if the head of the household is actually pinned.
Festivus is celebrated on December 23.

| And here I didn't even know Canadians had a Thanksgiving day. Maybe we need to have ours in october also to stretch out the Christmas shopping season. |
