I'm doing a shoot this weekend.
I pretty much work with regular lightings, I can normally borrow a few hotlights from my highschool photo teacher. but thats it, i have an assistant (bored friend) that holds up a white sheet in front of the lights if they need softened, or bounced off the ceiling or what not.

Anyway, back to the shoot. She wanted some of her and her cousin for their parents for christmas, I was going to use a studio at the local college (i go half day highschool, half day college) but they closed for christmas like a week ago. So I will have to try to pull something together at her house or my house, but as someone said, my house is not photogenic at all. That will be interesting.

THEN!
She wants pictures of her for her boyfriend who is coming home from the military for christmas, and she wants "sexy ones" that should be a little easier seeing as I'll have more options. ...right? lol

ughh... being 17 and having no money is terrible!

Any help is GREATLY appreciated. =]

Being any age and having no money is terrible! I'd like to have some things of my youth back, but you know, overall, being 47 isn't so bad afterall.

As to your issue about lighting - hot lights are gonna make for slow shutter speeds. Tripod and tell them to sit still. you can however use drive mode so that may help some.

as for the sexy pics...well, you're only 17 so I'll stop right now before i get into trouble.

haha, okay, that is quite understandable.

what about the other ones for her mom?
i cant get ahold of a studio, the local college is closed for winter.

windows are your best friend, and a reflector or flash for fill.

These are lit just by the window. No reflector, no fill.
