is cloning out a couple of sun spots allowed in advanced editing. IE when shooting directly at the sun

Yes I am sure it is.....much bigger things have been cloned out and validated.

I'd be careful if they are the really pronounced kind, with diagonal trails. The annoying little ones ought to be no problem...

they are just two round spots so hopfully Ok

Sunspots are only about 30,000 miles across. Should qualify under the 'minor imperfections' rule...
