I was happy to find this person's portfolio while browsing pics this morning, and noticed they've never posted in the forums. Sad, as I think his artwork is incredible. Not true photos, but very obviously based on them; take a look!
**Warning - images are anime style nudes, implied, etc. But don't let that stop you ;)

Best thing about this thread is Bear_Music being all `street` by using the word skillz. |

Are these really considered photographs or digital art? Some seem based on actual photos, others are so far removed from a photo I cant tell for sure.

Gee thanks! The highest compliment you could have paid me was for you to say my work is crap.
:)
He takes pictures of models so that he has his own reference material to use in his illustration work. He doesn't consider himself a real photographer. He retouches/adds backgrounds and elements to them in photoshop and provides them to the models in exchange for them posing.
As for his drawings. Some of them are drawn freehand and others heavily reference photos that he takes. It all depends on what he's trying to achieve. |

Sex is an easy sell. The real question is, can he photograph water droplets? |

or long exposure wateralls?
Kudos to the artist. I haven't seen a rooster's head on a human body for a long long time. Brings it all back for me. |

do you have a problem with people who work in different mediums?

......
except that his is better.
pretty damn rude of you, far as I'm concerned.

It's true, Tez and bvy put it more mildly.
But if I had to choose someone to run my gallery, cutout would have first dibs.

I was going for sarcasm :)
Artistry of any kind deserves credit... digital art or whatever the hell you need to call it, it's still pretty cool.
I think I'd have my gallery run by the mafia; "i'll make you an offer you can't refuse: Sign the $200,000 cheque for the print with your pen, or your brains". |

Thank you for clarifying for us :) And though it's not necessarily my style of art (I really like a few pieces) I definitely wouldn't call it crap! |

Well he's obviously only here for dpcprints. And I'm pretty sure he's not the only one.
I just wish I had his talent, even if it is digital art, not photography.
