No.....do it whatever way works for you.

People b*tch all the time about not getting comments.....then they b*tch about the ones they do get.

If you are motivated to leave commentary, explanations, score breakdowns, WHATEVER.....you are doing WAY more than most.

I deeply agree. My problem in the current challenge (and some other recent challenges) is that I tend to get positive comments only, whereas my score is low (4.7ish). It seems like people do not dare or care to critize anymore. That's a pitty. Of course, I like getting compliments, but I learn a lot more from criticism.

ETA: Looking at my own comments, it seems that compliments are considered helpful in general, whereas criticism hardly ever is. But maybe my style of commenting isn't subtle enough. ;)

@Balko: your comments look a bit mechanic at first, but they ARE very helpful. Please keep m coming.

I agree with you Camabs.
Maybe being new to the site allows me to be less offended by the comments.
In the 3 challenges I've entered I have received 13 comments. Only 4 of those comments offered any criticism (all done in a very nice way) and every one of those 4 were correct and I will learn from them.
I always mark every comment as helpful so to not discourage anyone from leaving them.
I don't understand those who give a shot a very low vote and don't tell why.

People are funny......there are these terrific tutorials, written BY DPCers FOR DPCers that they may more constructively vote, comment, give, and receive feedback.

Here, Here, and Here.

And yet, we don't seem to take advantage of what's right in front of us....(I have to admit I just read the feedback one myself....rated it a 3 out of 3!)

I also ALWAYS mark the comments as helpful, even if they are incorrect. Sometimes I've had a technique pointed out as flawed that was intentional. That doesn't mean that the comment wasn't helpful......it still established on some level that I didn't reach that particular viewer.

NEVER let anyone's response to a comment dampen your motivation to comment. They put their image out there, and they willingly accept that they may not like what they hear.....that isn't on you if you leave an honest comment.

In my own personal experience, the comments I like least, are the ones that are the most accurate that I don't want to hear!......8>)

Oh.....just to validate this as a non-hijack......8>)
