Does anyone know if this is compatible with my Nikon D90 and my Nikon AF Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX VR II

and does this mean my 200mm will be like 600mm?? Still autofocus and VR?

i think it doesn't make sense putting any teleconverter infront your 18-200.
you'll loose way too much light and AF. to give you an exmaple, your lens is at f5.6 at 200mm. even with a 1.4x tc you'll have a hard time focusing (even tho it will probably work, but really slow) at f8 then. with a 3x tc you'll be at f16(!) at 200mm which really doesn't make sense.
that aside i think a 3x tc will result in quite some soft images, even with a high qualitiy prime. if you're looking to get a longer range maybe get a used 70-200 f2.8 and use a 1.7x tc that will give you good results (converted 120-340 f4.8)

3x is very aggressive for a teleconverter. You will lose just over 3 stops of light, meaning that at the long end, yes, you will have 600mm of reach, but at roughly f/16 max aperture! There will be no possibility of AF, and the viewfinder will be very dark, making manual focus a nightmare. What's worse, sharpness will suffer badly.

THANKS....that is EXACTLY what I wanted to hear, before money was wasted.

Agree, it would probably be cheaper just to upsize it in phothshop then run it through the gaussin blur filter.. the end result would be the same..

I have this very tele-converter. It is not something I would recommend, the picture quality is poor, it is impossible to take steady pictures unless mounted on a tripod. I will say it works okay for astrophotography, but that is it.
