So I had a call from someone I played around doing pictures with who wants me to order novelty items of her sons pictures I took. she wants a rubiks cube and a mouse pad ( for several people) so the cost of the rubiks cube to me is 13.95 and the cost of the mouuse pads ranges from 5.95-9.95 depending which one she chooses..
So what is the price that should be charged for these items? the only reason I am going to charge for the items is cause we dd the pictures free, she liked them. and got me several other peoples kids that I messed around with for basically nothing I think I charged like 15 dollars when i did them.. anyway they all ended up buying prints. and i don't want to give this lady a break on the items because she is like the gossip queen, so as soon as they come in people will see them and want to order them too ( thats the way that crew runs)
any suggestions? |

How much time will you spend editing the photos to fit the items, uploading the photos, ordering the items, picking up and delivering the items, collecting payment? How much do you charge/hour (even if theoretically) -- figure from there. Sometimes giving a "first-time" discount to a new customer can help temper expectations of the rumor recipients ...
Your retail price should probably end up between 2-3 times your cost for the items. |
