I'm going to offer up the other side of the coin.....I did mark your comment helpful, but you missed the mark on mine as being one of the others, but not abandoned.
You happen to be incorrect, but that would have been on me to convey the abandonment properly, right?

Maybe, maybe not. Subtle things sometime slip by as we try for speed records while voting/commenting. I did try to slow down and give each entry at least 1.3 seconds versus my usual 1.1 seconds. Seriously, I did try to spend some time with these and even did a second pass, elaborating on some comments and rethinking my scoring.

I'm going out of my mind watching my first 7+ score in the 2½ years I've been here slowly slipping away and watching the clock c r a w l towards regular rollover time.
If there's an extension I'm just going to be sitting here quietly crying and having a meltdown.

Ah this is the way to start a week: just managed to get my "Periodic Table" image in after all that suspense... AND woke up to find an affirming Posthumous comment on "Abandoned" ... the man is a genius, what can I say: when not many others have managed to notice the brilliance in my image, Don has ;-)

Truly I was commenting on the strength of your subject more than its relevance to the challenge, which I had no problem with. My very first impression was that someone set fire to the thing, before I realized that it was just weathered beyond recognition. So maybe it's me who needs to convey his thoughts more eloquently! I gave this a six but keep in mind I generally score a point lower than most, something I'm gradually trying to adjust upward.
