Could the degrees of searching freedom be increased? For example, I'd like to be able to search the profiles on:
Average Score received
Average Vote Cast
Percentage of comments marked helpful
Geography (to cross tab with other variables)
Membership Date (initial)
Highest percentile
Average percentile, etc.
I think that this might be helpful when trying to assess the comments and scores that one recives (and maybe more importantly, gives.)
I thought of this a week or so ago when I was watching the forums, and I saw what I initially thought was some reasonably insightful dialog. When I sifted through the profiles, I found a couple of 3.X average votes cast, and discounted a lot of what I was reading.
Later, as I thought about it some more, I realized that I have no idea what the distribution of average votes looks like, and no idea whether my average is "high", "average", or "low". While I suspect that those that are giving an average of 3.X know they are low, I'm not sure whether the rest of us know whether we are voting within the norm or not.
I should also tell you that I have made a conscious decision to raise my average vote cast, based on some very non statistical observations. I would like to know a little more than that, and have a frame of reference for voting, and commenting, and who has similar patterns, and some tools would be helpful.
Best,
Bill
