Am not promising one a day but hey, will try ;)
Don't have a clue whats going on around the coffee cup? but was amazed at the women being so in focus as this was a 60 seconds exposure - guess she was listening intently to her blurred friend ;)

That is very nice resolution for a pinhole. Was that a home-made lens? |

Txs Steve :) I sent an old body cap off to a company that made the pinhole for me, can't remember where I sent it right now and think it cost around £15. |

I'm sure I won't get a shot a day in either, but I managed to get one in today.

This is just some stuff on my sideboard, and is something in the nature of an experiment.
I made my own pinhole by cutting a small piece of aluminum from a Diet Dr. Pepper can. I used the smallest drill in my drill bit set to start a hole in the aluminum (just rolled it between my fingers). It was much easier than I anticipated, and I went right through the metal. That pinhole was way too large. I tried again. This time I stopped before I went through the metal, and I finished the piercing with a beading needle. I have no idea what size the pinhole is.
I drilled a hole in a body cap that fits my 40D, and Scotch Taped the pin hole over the hole in the body cap.
I exposed this at ISO 100 for six minutes and opened it in Camera RAW. To get something workable, I had to up the exposure by about 2.5 stops, so, as you can see, there is lots of noise. I tweaked the curves and turned it into a tri-tone to make it look like an old print (sort of). I did some clean-up for sensor guck, and was surprised at how clean the sensor actually was.
I'm probably going to order a ready-made body cap.

Ah, flowers, nice idea Nathan :)
Germaine, I'm starting with a 'custom' made pinhole and thinking of going native with a Cornflake pack or similar by the end of the month ;)
Rollover lol so will post my day 2 pic (ok, it was taken yesterday). Am getting excited by this SC and whilst offered in a dpc challenge I'd be getting the brown for this I reckon its pretty good for a 37 second candid :)

I'll post both of these since they are the same setup. I'll try to post at least one shot a week.

Come join me in our new pinhole/zone plate photo gallery! Don't forget to tag your photos for this gallery.
Many thanks, Langdon!
eta that you can edit already-posted shots too to add them to the gallery, so I hope we'll fill up that gallery pretty soon!

Anyone want to join me in creating a pinhole/zone plate self portrait at some point this month? Sounds like fun to me!
