...sometimes I think she may also be mad, especially the niche she has picked within the biological specialty.
Anyway, I am proud of her and just wanted to brag that she is one of three authors that have been published in the most note worthy of all books Salmonid Spawning Habitat in Rivers: Physical Controls, Biological Responses, and Approaches to Remediation
Her chapter is Spawning Habitat Remediation as Part of National and Regional Scale Programs to Recover Declining Salmonid Populations (Jill A. Marshall, Paul DeVries, and Nigel Milner)
For the low price of $69.99 you can order this book and learn something about Salomon.

Considering that's likely the price you'll be paying for a pound of Pacific salmon if this year's moratorium on commercial fishing doesn't work, you better hope the Department of the Interior (and their cohorts) request a bulk discount ... |

Hey, that's great!
Me and some of my buddies have done a bit of research on salmonids too...
Actually, my friend Pete (last photo, blue jacket) really does work on fish related research projects. They capture live fish, gather various types of information, then release them.
Please pass my congratulations on to your sister. That's some seriously important work she's doing.

Hey, that's a very important area of study, and I'm sure that book will be well-studied here in BC. There's a lot of concern about the spawning habitat and any new studies I'm sure are very welcome in the scientific community.
Congrats to her :)
Spawning river right near my place :)
eta; That reminds me, it's just about time for the run to start. I might have to drive over tomorrow if it's sunny, see if they're coming in yet.

Just make sure to use a fast enough shutter speed that those fast-moving fish don't get BLURRED ... ;-) |
