When you have that much magnification the DOF gets very small very fast. I have found that if I stop down more than f/22 things start getting noticeably softer due to diffraction effects so I think I can live with the end of the ant̢۪s leg being slightly OOF. You should see how tiny the DOF is when using a microscope!

in that first shot i think you mistyped the conversion.

"1/200s f/22.0 at 100.0mm (35mm equivalent: 610mm) iso100 with Flash"

it should be 160mm not 610mm

just in case you missed it.

That is good ole Pbase, I didn't type that in, the pbase software does that on its own. Check out the other picture's info, 488mm??, it makes even less sense.

oh, that's right. i forgot pbase does that for you automatically. seems like they'd get that fixed.
