This just popped into my head and now I want to see it. :) I remember an episode where the opening scene was one where things repeated over and over in a rhythmic manner while some song was playing over top. One character would repeated a motion while another character added their own part with the next cycle.

Who can name that episode and who can link me to a video of it?!? :)

Yes, too much time. OK, another clue. I recall discussing this episode with Diedrich Bader (Oswald) on a plane flight from LA to New York in fall of 1998, so it was likely the season before... :)

ok doc, no fair name-dropping without giving details. acquaintance, or mere coincidence? enquiring minds want to know! (er, I do anyway...)

eta - I once sat across / behind Alan Thicke (from the 'Growing Pains' TV show). He looked exhausted, so I left the poor guy alone. Glenda & I also met Alex Trebek while stationed in Spain; they were doing a special military episode of Jeopardy.

Anyone else have 'famous' meetings or sightings?

I have had two brushes with "famous" people.

The first was when I was 8. My parents and I were stuck in traffic in downtown Denver. Looked over at the car next to us and there sat Erik Estrada (CHIPS was huge at the time). His car made a right turn and that was it.

The other one was at a spring training baseball game about ten years ago. I was sitting in the stands with a couple of friends when I looked down and realized that Joe Morgan (Second Baseman Cincinnati Reds Big Red Machine era/Now broadcaster for ESPN). It was the ninth inning when I realized this (Joe Morgan had been my idol growing up). I went running down, introduced myself chatted for a couple minutes then left with the final out. As my friends and I got into our car one of them said- "So did you get his autograph?" NO!!! I couldn't believe I hadn't even thought to get his autograph.

What would we do without the internet???

I don't know him. It was a total coincidence. We both happened to be flying on the same plane. I was flying back from an interview for residency at the time. He was very nice and I was impressed he was flying coach. :)

I don't think I've met many other famous people. I've met Steve Largent and eaten at his house (my aunt and uncle house sat for him). He's more of a local celeb, but he IS a Football Hall of Famer and now ex-congressman.

I went to high school with Deron Cherry (NFL football player), of course that was before he was famous. I met Frank Zappa, twice. My husband and I hung out the with the band Black Oak Arkansas (not that they're that famous) at a bar one night. We also met a bunch of WWE/WWF wrestlers at a bar once and hung out with them.

I went to school with Jennifer Tilly and her lesser-known actress sister Meg, though in a school of 1500 students I didn't really know them. I mainly remember Meg in the drama club's productions.

Their mother taught in the primary school my kids attended.

OMG -- now Al Gore invented life!?! ;-)

Well, I was only about two, but once Paul Robeson had to sing me a lullaby while holding me on his lap, when I couldn't go to sleep during a post-concert get-together at our house (he's also the person I was named after).

I think I got to meet Pete Seeger around the same time.

I've met Tom Paxton backstage after a show a couple of times, and I once went to a remixing session at a studio where there were some members of Jefferson Airplane present.

I once saw Milton Berle hanging around the LA Airport.

Robin Williams was in my mom's improvisational acting troupe before (Mork and Mindy), and when my mom was in her teens, she was hanging out with the likes of Charlie Chaplin and Huntington Hartford -- well before my time ... :-(

She's supported herself in showbiz for the past 35 years, and I could drop lots of names vicariously ... ;-)

I spent some time in college hanging around with conductor-to-be Kent Nagano.

I was on the DPL with Joey Lawrence...

One time i gave a CC comment to a JoeyL blue ribbon winner. Tore it to shreds, I did. :)

I brushed Heather Locklear's first class knee on my way to a back of the plane coach seat. She is short.

I had one more brush with "famousness". When I was nine I 'tested' for Stanley Kubricks "The Shining." I actually don't remember much, but apparently I did okay until my parents left the room, after that I just stood against the wall and wouldn't talk to anyone. Stanley Kubrick was sitting in on the testing that day. Danny Lloyd (who eventually got the part) was also tested that day.

I've met Donovan Bailey twice and had dinner with him once. My partner Joe used to do his website.....it started out as a hobby when Joe wanted to learn how to make websites. He chose Donovan because he was a fan and Donovan didn't have a website. One day Donovan called him up and asked if he would create and maintain an official site for him, so he did it for several years before giving it up. In 2000 Donovan flew Joe and I to Victoria, BC to watch the Canadian track and field Olympic trials. That was the first time I met him, and we had dinner at a restaurant where I also met Bruny Surin. The 2nd time I met Donovan was when he came here to participate in the Lung Association's relay/fund raiser. Oh, on the flight to Victoria we also met Mark Boswell who was also going there for the Olympic trials.

Several years ago we were out for a drive downtown and saw bright lights on the harbourfront. The Akademik Mstislav Keldysh (Russian research vessel) was in port so we parked and walked down to see what was up. James Cameron and Bill Paxton were on deck with a film crew. On the harbourfront not 10 feet away from us and the handful of other people who were watching what was going on were Gloria Stuart and Suzy Amis. Cameron was filming for something and was talking and joking with the onlookers, he filmed us and got us to wave at the camera.

And I've seen a few local celebrities around the city that other Canadians might recognize. I was behind Alan Doyle (from Great Big Sea) at Tim Horton's once (Joe's brother used to share an apartment with him after they got out of university) and just the other day I was behind Bob Hallett at the checkout at the grocery store. I saw Mary Walsh at a bakery a couple of years ago and passed Andy Jones while walking downtown.

I am guessing Cameron was shooting this all time hit. The only movie I can think of using a boat.

Well, if we're dropping names. John Elway used the urinal right next to the one I was using. We finished at the same time and while washing hands, he said, "hey."

No, this was after Titanic, probably 2001 or 2002. Perhaps Ghosts of the Abyss but I'm not sure.

Ashley Judd grew up around here and went to UK. My daughter is second cousins with her (on her dad's side).

Lee Majors (the six million dollar man) went to school here at EKU, where I work. lol

I saw BobCat Goldthwait (comedian - Police Academy movies) at the NYS Fair, late 80's....I spotted him and his family looking at the Sand Castle display. I kept staring at him, telling my family that it was 'him'...they didn't agree...I left him alone as my family didn't believe me....but I kept 'whispering' "I know I'm right"...very soon after He got up and was moving through the crowd towards me...and as he passed, he touched my arm and said 'you ARE right'. I was so thrilled, I didn't draw attention to him sitting there, but he knew I 'had' him and obviously appreciated my not drawing attention so that he could go about the day in peace.
