Dark green, rust on the roof...I'm guessing about 10 years old or more.
Anyone? |

Wow! I wish I could award you points or a bonus or something.
Any way to figure out (within reason) the year? |

Yup, it's a "hit", and I'll be posting the payment amount next! ;-)
Seriously, the guy owes me almost a grand, and I need this info so that he can be served (it's impossible for a Sheriff to determine if the guy is home if I can't even identify the car).
On my copy, the plate is clearly visible, but it's not relevant for public use (duh!).
This is a frame export from Adobe Premier, de-interlaced with Photoshop, and then cropped. No other touch-up helped at all. Yea, I should have used my Nikon, but I didn't expect the guy to pull into his street at the same time as me. I quickly grabbed my Sony camcorder and shot the best video (while driving) that I could.

Looks like a 1993 or 1994 model. My first new car bought with my wife was a Plymouth Sundance.
Other descriptors to keep in mind:
- missing passenger-side front hubcap
- dented passenger-side front door (lower part)
- black bumper sticker with white lettering on righthand side of rear bumper.
Sherriff should be able to run the plate number and find last known address, etc.
Good luck!

Wow, you really missed your calling as a PI.
I might go out late tonight and see if I can get a close-up of the bumper-sticker. The Nikon won't work; I'll have to use the IR of the Sony camcorder.
Sad part is, we were friends and I was POSITIVE he would pay me back. Now, he changed his phone number and won't answer the door. Sad...court is not necessary...just pay people back what you owe them is the way I live my life... |

Looks a lot like the 1989 Sundance on this page... //2good2lose.com/1989sundance.shtml |

Had to split-screen it to see. Most of the markings are identical, though in the link above there appears to be an emblem above the plate (though it's in the shadow, so it's hard to tell). Plus, an emblem might have existed in my picture but now gone.
Good work guys (and gals)...you've helped me tremendously.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

If I see a news story about a 1993 Sundance dragged from the lake with its driver...I'm gonna be upset! |

I take (and sometimes post) pictures of "interesting" license plates all the time. They're right out there in public view -- there's nothing illegal about photographing them. |

SO WILL I!!!!
The guy owes me $850.00! If he's in a lake somewhere, I'll never be able to collect!

All you have to do is give the plate to the sherriff's dept. They can then run the plate and it will give them all the information they need. Including the year, vin, registered owner and lots of other information. Turn over a cd of the video you shot and tell them that is the car. They are surely smart enough to use the resources available to them.

I totally agree and laugh when I see them blurred on TV (mythbusters does it all the time). Since hte average person can't run a plate (as far as I know..i'm sure they must be a way though) and it's on the back of your car all the time in public view I just don't get the blurring thing.
But then I see folks post their biz card ideas on here and blur out the contact info...isn't the purpose of a biz card to get your contact info out there? Afraid of being spammed? Then how do you explain a website for your biz with all your contact info on it?
People are goofy.

Most states have made it impossible for non law enforcement people. There was a time when the average person could walk into a DMV, supply a license plate number then ask for address and name information from auto registration and get it. I think stalking played a big roll in this stopping this. |
