Deb, you lucky girls have lots of fun and watch out for roamin' Roman hands!

I saw some cool starling action about 2 mths ago. A flock of about 50 starlings were flying in a fairly tight ball and with such obvious intent in mind that I pulled over to watch them. They were chasing an ever-climbing hawk higher and higher. At one point the hawk got angry and dove at the flock, but the flock simply split in half, then resumed formation, and continued driving the poor hawk farther and farther up into the sky. I watched for a good 10 minutes, then had to get on my way, so didn't see at what point the starlings considered themselves to have driven the hawk off. Really cool to see.

I didn't get any good pics of the starlings (I was playing with the wide lens at the time) but Sara may have some and we'll be trying again tomorrow.

I did, however, get pictures of some birds that are NOT pigeons....

Here are two from yesterday:

- Deb and a mid afternoon capuccino. She runs on capuccino!

- One of the starlings. It really was a most incredible sight. Will post some more photos this evening, but now off to the Colosseum.

Gloating?? More like semi-sneering about having my picture taken, but I relented. But I have not had near enough coffee. Sara is a slave driver, I tell you! Sights, sights, more sights! Why we didn't get to eat until near 4ish this afternoon. Gotta say, getting off the metro at the Colosseum is a bit of a breathtaking type thing. Neat place. Then the Forum is even neater, and we missed whole bits of that area. Finally found our way back here and now must charge, charge, charge (batteries, that is) and dump lots and lots of cards. I figure I have a lot of very good tourist shots (at least 12 or so). Sara says hello and sends her love but muttered something about not being able to move at the moment. More shots later, maybe. Depends on how long we stay awake.

'Twas lovely weather today - very forutunate in that respect. And so far we still have all of our possessions, except perhaps the whole common sense bit about pacing one's self....

What's the problem with borders? I thought they were legal in Advanced.

Let me guess... heart-shaped borders! You naughty suckers!

LOL! I used the "time machine" in pspx2 which adds a painted kind of border outlined with a solid white border. I then added an additional border in pscs using a bordermania border called frame #2. That adds and inside and an outside border. They consider this to be clip art. It's kind of hard to explain, but you'll see it after voting. LOL! I'm still waiting for a verdict on my red entry. It's been in for validation since the first day of voting and the challenge ends tonight. That one is also a border issue. I used the pxpx2 "picture frame" that I asked about last week. They might consider that one to be clip art as well. It adds a layer, but there is no pixel data on it, so we'll see. If they both dq, I guess I'll get penalized for a week.

eta: I'm in puzzle macro with a plain black frame!

Sorry, Kelli. Mine was because I wasn't obvious enough that the background was a photo. Oh, well, no major harm done, and I still like the shot. I'm also in puzzle macro with a shot I like.

Sorry about the DQs, guys. But good for you for trying new things, too!

No pictures yet - still haven't even seen them all. But I know Sara has some good pigeon shots.

Love the wall art! LOL! That's sure a lot of work you're doing!

Well, my red didn't get dq'd, but I also never got anything saying it was validated so I guess they still can. And I'm doing ok in puzzle macro...

Jeffrey, Wow nice house and have lots of fun doing the work. The pride of ownership putting your own footprint on it.

I had NADA for either of the open challenges, but I'm on a DPCO team.

They'll regret that!

Oh, well......there's always next week.
