I want to buy the Canon 450d (inc lens)- it's my first ever 'proper' camera and so I want to buy from the right place... there seems to be many different prices on the net/in shops... so I'm confused. Do I buy cheaper from the net or in-store?
Can anyone recommend a good retailer for me that has good customer service AND good value for money?
Also, what accessories would you recommend getting with my camera?
Thank you :) |

The best-known online retailers are B&H, Adorama, and Amazon. These are reputable dealers. There are many online shops which are very shady so you should be careful and check into them first.
ETA: I've found that these dealers handily beat local brick-and-mortar shops for pricing so I'll probably never buy anything in-store again. =)
Cheers and have fun!

As you are in the UK I would suggest buying from the Canon Outlet site on ebay (the only part of ebay that I ever buy from) - you probably won't find a 450 there but you will get a 40D for the same money, or a 400D for half the money !
They are refurbished but come in full Canon boxes and packaging and everything I have got from them has been mint condition and impossible to tell apart from any shop bought goods that cost a lot more money.

edit to fix link.
