I visited my dad yesterday and he gave me, free of charge, his £400 barely-used Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30! He wanted a digital camera cos everyone has one and in typical fashion, he went online to buy a good one and after reading a coupla good reviews, settled on the FZ30 because it was expensive (makes you sick eh?) He didn't have a clue how to work it, didn't bother reading the manual or trying out the settings, he used it once in a blue moon (maybe 4 times altogether) and that lovely camera sat in his cupboard all alone for months and months, much to my horror. I told him such a model was wasted on him since he had no interest in photography nor the camera itself and after a coupla weeks of hinting, he gave it to me yesterday, to my great surprise. I have no idea yet how to work it but I'm looking forward to trying it out.
There's nothing particularly interesting about this story, I'm just psyched to have this new cool camera that didn't cost me a penny and wanted to share my gleeeee :)
