When i open a jpg image from my memory card, i get an "embedded profile mismatch" message before the image opens. It also says that the embedded profile will be used and not the working space profile.
Does anyone know why i don't get an option to select the working profile or how i could change it to use it by default?

You need to configure Photoshop's color management properly.
Choose Edit > Color Settings... and configure as desired.
Be sure that if you aren't working in the sRGB color space, that you convert (and not assign) to sRGB before doing a "Save For Web" when preparing a submission for DPC or your colors will "shift" when viewed outside of a color-managed application.
