I donĂ¢€™t know, if any houstonian has noticed the duck invasion we have in Houston. But the poor things keep getting themselves into trouble no thanks to us humans.

If you noticed in houston, there are tons of farm ducks in the ponds and city due to people who buy the ducklings at fairs because they are cute and such. But when the ducks grow, they no longer want them and they abandon them at the ponds.

Anyway, that just calls for trouble. While I was driving thru a parking lot last night, I noticed a mother duck with about 10 duckings standing in the middle of the parking lot. So the better side of me decides toI stop and shoo them away before some crazy fast driving houstonian decided to run them over (seen that happen many times).

As I spook them away I noticed that they were standing near a sewer drainage. Then I heard noises coming from within the sewer. I looked at the frantic mother and said "I bet there is one down there". Well to my realization there were three down there. The mother keeps looking at me and I said to her "yeah yeah I know I know"

Knowing what I had to do, I parked my car, and removed the sewer cover and climbed down there in the nasty dirt (I hope it was only dirt). I managed to get two of the three out, but the third one was stubborn and decided to hide in a pipe and wouldnt come out. I stayed until 10:30 PM and he wouldnt come out. So I had to make the tough decision to leave him there to his own luck. I felt bad about that knowing that the poor duckling wouldnt survive. I just hope the mother doesnt go back to that drainage to see and more fall in there. However the other two fled in happiness to the safety safety of their mother's wing. So I know I made a difference to those two.

I wish those ducks would stay in the water and stop wandering into the city. They just get themselves into trouble and me all dirty and stinky. I spent about an hour in the shower last night. LoL

So watch out for the Invasion of the Ducks in Houston! You never know what kind of adventures they might get you into.

That is such a wonderful thing you did there. Animals just know how to sucker people into doing crazy things. Where's the pictures? :)
