In my wheels photo (large ferris wheel), I received a couple of comments that it was Mundane/too normal of a shot to receive a high score... When I took the pics, I took about 120 of them from many different angles around the wheel. I went through the photos and narrowed them down to 3 that I thought were good/interesting. Take a look at these and tell me which you think would have scored the highest.

The fourth pic I liked because it was really different (would have been a totally unique picture in the challenge, I would have cropped the top of it so as not to have sky above the track. But I don't think it would have done well at all.
Thanks,
Mike

I like the third picture best, it's very dramatic. I also liked the one you had in the challenge! |

My preference is definitely for the third. The angle of view really adds to the feeling of height and size.

mine would be the second. i really like how the tree branches in the foreground seem to blend with the wheel.. the rest are a bit 'deja vu' to me. |

I don't like jpgs 120 or 066, don't really know which of the other two I like the best, probably would go for the third, I like the trees but the second as too much infront of it.

Thanks for the quick responses, it was a tough choice for me to narrow it down, my favorite at full size is the second as the tree seems to become the structural support for the wheel, and the name of the wheel is visible between the tree trunks. However, when resized to 640x480, the wheel tends to get lost in the clutter of the trees.
As I looked at the wheel more and more, I decided that the straight on shot gave the clearest picture of the ferris wheel. I then tried to picture it as it would be on a postcard for the park.
I do agree that the third picture's angle really emphasizes the size of the ferris wheel.
Unfortunately (for pictures only) the wheel is in the midst of a ton of trees and was practically impossible to get a clean shot of it.
BTW, the fourth picture is the track leading up from a small roller coaster to the first drop. |
