Hi

Need some advice please, what's the best macro lens to get for a full frame nikon digital

You could always hold you 50 up backwards to your other lense! works like a champ lol. focusing is fun though... sorry don't know nikon but that tip is fun

Indeed there is - but you will probably want to go with the longer macro lenses for full frame as you don't have the crop factor working for you. The Tamron 90mm that IreneM has been using seems to work at least decently (cough!). Also the 105mm VR is a great piece of glass but I can't justify the lens right now.

I would go for one of the longer focal length Macro lens. I believe Sigma and Tamron make some of the longer ones. Sigma 150mm and 180mm both are great lens. Also Tamron makes a 180mm, SIgma also makes a 105. I would recommend 150-180 if you plan on taking insects, bugs and so forth. They have longer min focus distance to get 1:1 works much better with skittish critters.
