| Hi i am interested in entering a photo in this months free study but i was wondering if cloning out this branch in the corner is legal. its a leafy thing that isn't contributing anything to the photo, you actually dont even notice its there til you see the photo where its cloned out. Is this legal under advanced editing rules? |

If in doubt the best bet is to send it to SC, but it sounds like it's probably okay.
Another test is to show it to a non-DPCer and ask what it's a picture of. If they said, for example, "a beach" you're good, but if the answer is "a beach framed by a leafy branch" you're outta luck ;) |

| lol ok sounds good. its already passed my moms test-of-approval, but she's been taught in the way of the dpc:) i actually contacted the SC, but they haven't gotten back to me yet. they tend to take a wee bit of time to respond though, so i can just wait for a few days |

| If it's the one you showed me, I think it will be legal to clone it out. It does not change the viewers perception of the scene. You'll probably want to submit it for validation anyway, but I've seen examples of way more than that being cloned out under advanced rules. |

ok thanks. yeh as i said i emailed them, but its good knowing there have been worse has been done with the same rule |
