Greetings fellow DPC'ers! I've been viewing the site for quite some time but have finally become a paid member since yesterday. DPChallenge has really inspired me with my photography and has upped the quality of my photos within the last several months. I've also been busy filling up my portfolio. :)
I live in Hawaii and what better way to show off it's beautiful scenery than to take panoramas? Enjoy!
*it's a shame that images are limited to 640 px wide.. if you'd like to view some of my panos at larger resolutions, please click here

Pano's aren't really my thing, but I have to admit that they are pretty neat. You certainly have the stitching down ! Looking foward to seeing you in Challenges.

Nice panos. Shame that you can not use them in any challenges if you are stiching since then they are not derived form a single exposure. |

I'm sure everyone has their own niche when it comes to shooting photos. Some prefer black and white, some love macros, others like to do action shots or portraits.
Whenever I step outside, I'm just overwhelmed with my surroundings. How can I limit myself to 1.5:1 or 1.33:1 ratio? I always seem to mentally letterbox things to a 5:1 ratio anyway. :) |

That's true. I'll have to force myself to compose with a single shot >.<
..But if we ever have a postcard challenge, I definitely think I have an advantage! |

Excellent panoromas. If I had a new/fast computer I would love to try more panoromic shots. What software do you use?

Correct me if I'm wrong (can't find the rule) but I thought submissions had to be one shot out of the cam? some cams will stitch and produce a single image - could that not be entered?

Welcome to the site, hope you enjoy it as much as I have. By the way, not sure if you've heard of digitalphotocontest.com but they have a category for pano shots. Who knows maybe someday DP Challenge will have a pano challenge? |

Indeed; I've got the out-of-focus and bad lighting markets cornered!
Cheers

I'd take panos myself if I lived in such a paradise place like yours. Beautiful photos! Welcome to DPC.

If it is done in the camera, it is legal, according to the rules.
Edit: Excellent photos, btw, Brandon.

Thanks for the comments everyone!
For those of you wondering, I used to manually stitch my panos in photoshop, often taking a few hours producing an overall frustrating experience. All of the panos that I have hosted on DPC have all been stitched with Panorama Factory. I just import my images and 30 seconds later, a near seamless stitch! The current image is saved and brought back into photoshop to boost levels and saturation, or clone out any ghosts that panofactory could not get rid of. It is then resized and cropped if necessary.
My average pano is 9-12 shots and I am currently the only photographer I know who rotates 18° between each exposure, then takes a few steps to another area to rotate in a circle again! I'm very easy to spot here in Hawaii with my unusual picture taking technique :P |
