Sorry, couldn't wait until I have a copy in my sweaty palms but both  Talj and I where asked for shots of the top runners from last years Tunnocks tour of Mull for this years official Programme (sadly asked equals for free). If you click on the link you can view some of our images from last year by surfing to the gallery.
I'm almost packed and ready to start the long drive up to Mull (in Scottyland) for the 39th Rally and, if I remember will pick Talj up on the way ;)

Sadly is right, I'm sure it feels great to have your photos published, but its such a shame that they cant/wont pay you for them. I'm sure they dont let folks enter the rally's or have the programs for free. Yet they expect you to give them away. No wonder its like pulling teeth for photojournalists to make a living these days.

I totally understand what you are saying Matt! However, we took photos of the rally last year as it happened to be on during our holiday to the island. What we thought would be a boring couple of days before our 'real' photography holiday started actually turned out to be great fun! Plus, when we got home we decided to see if we could put the images up on the rally website for people to look through and if they wanted to buy them then we'd be happy to sort that out for a small donation to Rose's Tribute Fund. We actually made a tidy little sum from all sorts of people who wanted to buy prints or copies of the original and we were chuffed that our fundraising total was creeping up thanks to the generosity of the rally community!
From my point of view I was happy for our images to be used in this years programme, alongside some of the offical (and no doubt paid) photographers images, mainly because I was chuffed that people were actually recognising we'd taken some shots worth showing to others!! To be recognised by rally 'people' as taking decent images is cool considering I had never taken photos of any type of motorsport before and sometimes that feeling is more important than money! Well, to me it was anyway :o)
