Has anyone else had this problem?

Every time I try to upload a photo into one of my galleries, my internet shuts down. It doesn't ever happen any other time except for when I'm trying to upload a photo on smugmug.

Anyone experienced this? Or do you think it's something that has nothing to do with smugmug at all?

How are you uploading? There are about 10 different ways on smugmug.

The odds are good though that it's your internet connection. Have you tried uploading a large photo somewhere else and see if it happens?

I ended up trying the "olde faithful" way of uploading, and my computer seemed to like that way MUCH better.

Thanks for helping. :)

Have you tried posting your question on the SmugMug Support Forum? It's the best place to get help with SmugMug issues. I've seen a couple of threads about uploading recently.

Personally, I use this one:

//www.shahine.com/garage/content/SendToSmugMug.aspx

This one is the best one that works for me for I have trouble with the others as well though not with the internet shutting down. But, this one works terrific AND you can choose all the settings for your new Albums as well.

Good Luck!

Smugbrowser for Firefox

I can't say that this will solve your uploading problem, but this is what I use. The advantage, to me, is that I can upload into multiple folders at once.

When I shoot a wedding, I typically separate the images into a bunch of folders (portraits, candids, bouquet toss, etc) so that the customer can easily find the pictures they are looking for. But if I had to upload to just one folder at a time, it would force me to babysit my computer for hours on end. Using smugbrowser, I can queue up the pictures for all of the various folders at once and walk away knowing that Smugbrowser will finish the uploads for me.

It's a Firefox-specific solution. If you already use Firefox, you should definitely give it a try. If you're not using Firefox, but you are using Smugmug, then this one plugin might be enough to get you to switch to Firefox. :)

That plugin was created by a "David Parry" David Terry... Is there anything you would like to tell us???
