That looks like my backyard during any winter storm. Except for the minus 60 temperature.
Kind of odd that they have one little door separating them from hell. It looked like a door from my bedroom. No wonder it was so cold in that room. |

I'm up for it, when do we leave? And better question, how much weight will I need to hold my tripod still?

Okay, so what's the deal.... I guess a clear filter to protect the glass lens might be the deal?? I mean the camera is "weather sealed" right :-) |

I dont think it would take that long, the winters around here if it hits -30C with a good wind you can actually get frost bite on exposed flesh in a matter of a few seconds...
Out there I guessing maybe a couple minutes before you are a human popsicle |

Nothing a stiff upper lip and a flask of hot tea wouldn't solve.. |

I was this close to going on a photography expedition to Antarctica a few years back--pricey once-in-a-lifetime sorta trip (about 10-15K before you buy your gear). It would have emptied my savings account, so I opted to wait a year or so. That was ten frakkin years ago.... Still waiting. |
