Leaves are turning in the high country. Anyone interested? October 5th would be the best day for me and my girlfriend. Might be to late, but this weekend we can't.

Fly me out and I'm there. I was born in Denver and moved away in the early 80's, I really miss it. |

Called the airlines. They tell me you've been banned from DIA. What did you do this time?
P.S. Bump?

You don't really want to know. It has something to do with the Brown Palace and Mexican food. |

I was up in the mountains last Friday, thinking that they would be ahead of main metro Denver by a bit, but they were just about the same. By my guess, the weekend of Oct. 5th will be the highlight of the year, only at the highest elevations have the leaves really turned, most of the aspens were just starting to turn.
Should be a good weekend to go.

is there a way to block this thread? you all are making me home sick. I spent the first 20 years of my life in Colorado with most weekends and summers at our cabin up past Winter Park near Frasier. I don't know what I miss more, those ice cold, clear water creeks we used to play (and bath) in or the Aspens changing or maybe the first snow fall or eating a nice rainbow trout fresh from the creek (yes the same one we bathed in lol). Don't get me wrong, I love Kentucky too and we have them "mountains" (yeah, whatever) not far south of me but you can't replace them Rockies. You all have fun.
<---departs to go cry under desk :(

I can remember going up to Hot Sulfer Springs every weekend and fishing in the mighty Colorado. OMG the size of the Rainbows I used to pull out of there were huge. the biggest I remember was about 24 inches and right around 3 pounds. They tasted to good cooked on an open fire, god I miss it there. |

My brother lives in Highlands Ranch and was up over Guanella Pass yesterday (26th), and said the Aspen are turning and are beautiful..he's supposed to be sending me a picture and I'll post it when/if I get it.

Nice shots. Here's one from last September in Winter Park.
Not sure where we're going, but we'll be taking our bicycles. If anyone wants to join us, you're more than welcome. She's not a hard core mountain rider, so we'll be on gentler trails.
