When Importing and/or Exporting files I often use a renaming and sizing scheme(s) which I find to be a cumbersome and somewhat error prone process when entering all the parameters. Is there a mechanism for saving these parameters to a file that one can load during the import/export process?

Can you post some specifics on what you are doing (i.e. detailed examples)?

There are many presets you can create and reuse at various stages of your workflow. (Virtually everything you can do in LR can be saved in a preset and re-applied and/or applied with customizations later).

If you can give some end-to-end examples of what you are doing and trying to accomplish, I'm sure we can suggest some places to ease/automate your tasks.

OK. I often shoot team photos for Soccer leagues, etc. Let's say that they are *.CR2 files. I want to import them as resized .jpgs and rename them with a League name, date and sequential number (xxxx) and either save them to a specific folder or potentially directly to SmugMug.

I find that using the Import dialog requires reentering much of the information. This is time consuming and error prone. I don't see any place to save the entries in the setup so that I can just load that set of parameters the next time I do the same operation.

Well, your example above is still in pretty generic terms. It's hard to give specific advice without specific examples to use which apply to what you want to do.

Without more detailed information, I can only agree with Colette's comment -- create a preset (or presets).

How you create that(those) preset(s) -- and if you need a file naming preset, a metadata preset, a develop preset, an export preset, or all of the above and more -- is going to depend on exactly what you want to do -- so if you need help figuring that out, you'll need to post some end-to-end detailed examples of what you are trying to accomplish.
