Instead of waiting til the dead of winter to have the Wildlife challenge, when those of us cursed with s**w have only little birdies to shoot, why not have it in the fall when there's lots of big, scenic wildlife wandering around? |

Snow...? What's snow? This is what we in south Florida get during the winter...

Another thing to remember is that this is an international website so one hemispheres winter is another ones summer. I see your point about only having "little birdies" to photograph. I just checked out Wildlife II. The majority of entries seem to be bird photographs so perhaps spring/autumn would be better timing for a wildlife challenge.

Exactly! The southern hemispheres have cool wildlife to shoot all year round, while those of us in the northern ones are stuck mostly with birds cause all the SMART mammals are hibernating! So we have to make do with chickadees, cardinals, jays, crows...and trying to shoot any of them against a s**wy bg can be daunting.

We have jack rabbits. White on white in the winter, if you can spot them at all.

Yes, I remember it well. An extremely competetive challenge with lots of good entries. Your fourth place finish was one of the highest scoring entries ever without a ribbon. |
