Howdy,
Here's another techincal one for ya:
I'm using a 40D body, and find that when I use the Flash Exposure Lock button, it seems to take the metering far more seriously at the focus point (in contrast to when I just press the shutter).
As far as I thought, I thought that pressing the shutter button would use the focus point in the same way for ETTL flash metering, but it seems to bias metering instead for the entire frame.
Does anyone know what the situation is with the FEL button?
At the mo', it seems to do the trick for metering flash exposure at the focus point, but it would be good to know what the situation is...
