| This was linked off an article about Leica's new 50mm F0.95 lens. Interesting reading. |

| Interesting lens. I've read that before, but even if you could find one, it would be nearly impossible to adapt it to your 5D (or any other SLR) since the rear of the lens would interfere with the mirror just being mounted to the camera. |

| The WTB was just headline hype. Neat article though. |

Haven't seen it, but here's the IMDB page. I might rent it just to watch the cinematography, but it is 3 hours long and from all accounts pretty slow-moving in terms of they story.

If you can afford the lens, you can probably afford having a one-off digital SLR built to go along with it.
I'm going to have to see if I can rent that movie, just to take a look at the cinematography. (My wife will be so thrilled.)
Edited to add: that it is available as an instant view on Netflix. May have to give that a shot first to see if the resolution is high enough to make that method worthwhile.

Hmmm, actually, you couldn't have one built since any such camera would not have a mirror/prism for TTL viewing and would not be an SLR. In any event, since the lens originally came with a leaf shutter built in, it would be much simpler (and likely cheaper) to simply adapt it to a camera compatible with that type of lens (such as a view camera) and use a digital back. |
