HI,

I can't find the ISO for my D1X shots, JPG or NEF... Anyone knows where to look? I tried Photoshop and ACDSEE and Nikon Capture, but so far the metatags in ACDSEE are the most complete, but they don't show the ISO at which the photo was taken. :-(

Anyone knows where to look?

Thanks.

About the D70: "I'm not sure why some cameras record EXIF data in different places. For some maddening reason I see no EXIF data for ISO or lens type in the JPG files when downloaded directly and read with iView or Photoshop 7, although they read just fine with the Nikon View 6.2.1 software."

From here.

Edit:

According to the NEF specifications the ISO is only stored as part of the manufacturer info, which I guess PS and the like won't read.

Photoshop does seem to be pretty poor at interpretation of the EXIF data in general. I just had a thought though, maybe someone with a D70 can verify if I'm on the right track...

...open a file, select file/file info, and in the "File Info" box, instead of selecting "camera data 1" or "camera data 2", select "advanced", then expand the EXIF section. All the EXIF fields should be there, including the ISO, somewhere.

If those don't work. I know of one way that will work for sure. Copy the original image back onto an empty compact flash card under a folder named "DCIM". Put it back in the camera. Your image should come up when you hit the monitor button. (If you push up and down you get info on the file including ISO.) This has never failed for me.

Dr. Jones/Martin:
You can only set the ISO with Nikon Capture.
You need to use the "Nikon View" software to view the settings of each shot.
