Just browsing through Ebay looking for various things... just wondering if this is something you would use? Very affordable, just not sure of quality.

Thanks

As it is an adapter, its going to be shit quality, but it could be fun just to play with and not actually to get quality images with.

I have something similar to this, which I bought for my previous camera. Yes, it fits on the DSLR as well, as it just screws onto the filter ring. I think mine was a semi-fish, around .4x. 0.25 will be pretty extreme.

The quality varies on these things, and also varies with different lenses that you might attach it to. On a DSLR, expect to see very low quality compared to what you are used to. If you're lucky, you'll get something not too bad in the centre, but you'll likely get extreme colour fringing around the edges. You'll also get a black circle around the edge of your image, but this is not uncommon with fish-eye lenses. Also, don't expect to be able to zoom in to remove the vignette - it doesn't always work like that.

But, despite the limitations, it can be fun to play with these things, just don't expect serious image quality.

For the price, you might also want to look at the Pelang 8mm fisheye. From what I've heard, it's pretty cheap too, (fully manual focus/aperture), and will give you a much better quality fish-eye image. I don't know where to get them from though. :)

Last I checked the Peleng 8mm runs around $350. It has some excellent reviews though and for the price is considered to be a very nice lens.
