To ALL of your WONDERFUL people who reached out to me - an Abundance of Thanks!
Firstly I think it's resolved.
After staying up until 3.45am and doing EVERYTHING I could (including tears - just a few though!)
So what I believe was the issue is that my Trend Micro Firewall was causing all the grief.
It occured to me upon waking this morning - (when I had all but resolved to wipe my computer clean entirely and start from scratch) - that this firewall thing and the Trend constantly trying to upload etc, was really out of order.
Called customer service at Trend this morning - had them guide me through how to shut it off and 'whella!' - problems all but disappeared.
I then cleaned the registry, did a full scan and reconfigured my new router for good measure and YEAH BABY - it all seems spanking - including VERY fast compared to the before I got ADSL2.
So to you AMAZINGLY, Kind & Generous people - I want to THANK YOU for helping me not feel so alone and lonely down here in Melbourne in the middle of the night over this weekend.
Your willingness to jump in generously with both feet and hold my hand and guide me to places I couldn't reach or even conceive.
I adore this site, and this experience only confirmed to me how much I adore the internet and the ability to interact with like minded people all across the world, whatever the time, whatever the day, whatever the need/occassion.
May good fortune come your way - because today you've 'Paid it Forward'!
So HAPPY & Relieved - oh and did I mention Tired!

Congratulations... see, Computers are fine until we put software on them... Glad you sorted it.
Stick to AVG, it works. Windows has a firewall, that also works.
