Prestige Camera? They supposedly ave a 5 star rating, but I don't trust just that. Can anyone relate an actual experience buying a camera from them?

STAY AWAY!!! They are the same as broadway photo, a very big bait and switch company. Check resellerratings.com if you ever have questions, they have the majority of the big business sites.

Thanks you...I suspected as much with the low price they are offering for the pre-order on the Canon 50D

Google " prestige camera review " and it'll pop up over and over how bad they are. I would stay away!!! Does not look good - I am not speaking from personal experience but from what is out there. One question to always ask is if the US Warranty is a MANUFACTURER's warranty (as in honored from Canon/Nikon/etc) or is it some shop they want to send it to. Grey market cameras will say US Warranty but in fact it is not from the manufacturer. Buyer beware!

Also had a bad experience. They have ridiculously low prices, and when you go for it, there's always a problem, like you won't get your stuff for four months. I got a refund, but it was because I immediately turned into a pit bull and I think I scared the lady on the phone. lol

What about Calumet? Anyone have any bad experiences from them? I may just end up placing my order with B&H as I know and trust them, but I'm scoping out other trustworthy dealers as well. I'll be buying my Canon 50D as a pre order by the end of next week.

I have purchased 2 big ticket items (40D and 400mm f/5.6) from One Call. Very excellent company plus they will finance 12 months no interest.

I bought a Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 II/III USM lens from a Calumet brick and mortar in Oak Brook, IL. No problems whatsoever. They were cheaper than the other local retailers < 15 miles from me in the NW Chicago suburbs. I can't speak to their online business.

Calumet in the UK is a very reputable seller, they use the same logo as the US so one would assume they are one and the same company. Not the cheapest but 100% trustworthy.
