According to McCain it's anyone that makes over $5,000,000.00.

So middle class must be anyone making $4,999,999.99 or less.

Source please?

Taxes should be fair and equal for all. (percentage not dollar amount).

Bush's tax cuts were almost that, the top brackets actually got a slightly less cut than did the poor.

The McMan himself

You Tube video

You're right, the poor have had far to easy in this country. It's about time they ponied up.

In all fairness, McCain was making a point by using that number. I don't happen to agree with his point, but jumping on the sound bite is not helping anybody. We're all so used to listening to FOX or MSNBC or CNN that we start to think that this is what debating the issues is, but it's not. I'm not trying to jump on you scarbrd, just trying desparately to raise the level of discourse here. It's probably a losing battle, though.

It's down. So I went to youtube and searched but didn't find it. But I did find this little gem.

Bill O'Reilly getting pissed at his TV crew

I laughed even harder at this one though. WARNING NSFW Extreme use of the f word folks.

Well, since you've brought up lies --> Here You GO.

Now, can't we play nice and discuss the actual issues.

--edited out--

OK, so you're claiming that the AP (who wrote the story) is left-wing -- fine. Can you dispute their claims of what the facts are? Where's your source?

ETA: Just saw your edit -- I'd really like to discuss this with you -- I'll do my best to play nice if you will :) Contrary to how the media and the politicians likes to polarize the issues, I respect some of the conservative agenda even if I don't agree with it. If two simple citizens such as ourselves can't have a civil conversation about these issues, how can we expect our representatives to?

I also edited out your quote in respect for your desire to stay out of it if you want :)

I changed my mind I'm not getting involved here. pm me if you want me to respond to your question.

Just in case the AP is in fact a left-biased organization, here's another source to look at. Perhaps they are left-biased as well -- I don't know. But they have fact checks on both parties, so at least it's not one-sided.

thats a good site, thanks for pointing that out, it seems legit, I'll have to see, I didn't ever want to imply that the republican party doesn't lie as I believe there are lies on both sides of the party system, but I was stating that the majority of the media focuses on the republicans flaws and tends to neglect some of the democrats flaws.

I won't argue that, although I think that while the claim has some merit, it has been overblown and overplayed by (guess who) the media. That's why I try not to listen to the talking heads, but instead watch the speeches and read a variety of sources and make my own decisions. We come to these things with our own biases, and if all we do is listen to those who agree with us, we have no hope of making informed decisions.

Ah, yes. Words of wisdom from a comedian. Jon Stewart, the ultimate source...what a joke. Go liberals!

Excellent observation. The question is, why is a comedian the only one in the media who is doing this kind of work? (You did watch the video, didn't you?)

Um... the words are those of the Republican officials themselves. The comedian was only playing them back because it's funny to watch them take opposing views when it suits their purpose. Stewart didn't have to say a word.

The conservatives are brilliant propagandists. When the media does what it's supposed to do, i.e., investigate and question the government, it is called a "liberal bias." It's sad just how far the media has capitulated to this canard.

It's when the media does NOT do what it's supposed to do as well. Investigate the connection of Obama to terrorists. Question his record or lack thereof.

No, the media is patently biased to the left as has been proven time and again. I don't think they've ever been called biased for actually digging deep. But they only seem to do it against the GOP not the other way around.

Watch it?! No. I just found the source amuzing. When I saw 'Comedy Central' show up in my browser title bar I laughed.

I suppose just about any politician can be "caught" taking multiple viewpoints on various subjects. Politicians and Lawyers...both groups are well versed in wordsmithing. Find one that belongs to both groups and he will mesmerize you with orating skills!!! :-D

What red herrings are you trying to throw up now? What connection? Who's inferred the connection in the first place? That's where I'd start the investigation.

Um... Obama. William Myers. Hello? Read much? Obama claims never to have known him except as a neighbor yet they worked together as the heads of a liberal education-sabotaging think tank.

And they treated Reagan with kit gloves and were so kind to Clinton during the Lewinski ordeal, or how they researched the Bush connections to the Bin Laden family. Please.

That is so old school, blame the media when your message is soundly rejected.

For 8 - 10 hours a day you have Rush and Hannity venting a spleen on the public airwaves about every word uttered by a democrat and nothing but adoring praise for the other side.

I know you guys say they are not the media, but they are issued media credentials everywhere they go, they "report" on the issues of the day, yet they are not held to any standard for truth or fairness.

Keep blaming the media if it makes you feel better, but at some point you guys need to wake up a realize it's not the media, it is the American people rejecting your policies and culture of hate and fear.

What are you labelling a terrorist group? So they worked for the same think tank.

WHAT?!?! Every reporter, journalist, newspaper, TV station, magazine, and opposition strategist in the world would be all over that if there were anything to it. You might as well ponder why they aren't investigating his connection to the Klingons and Romulans. :-/
