Listening to Sarah Palin's speach we know where the American public is getting their ideas of Obama raising taxes.

If only people would do some of their own research and not just swallow what politicians feed them.

Obama has said over and over he would "repeal Bush's tax cuts for the rich".

Which is STUPID since Bush gave tax cuts to EVERYONE and rightly so. Problem is liberals have a strange definition of what "Rich" is. Government is NOT a nanny. The very poor who are unable to work or need a brief assistance is one thing. The handouts we give now are ridiculous. And the rich should not be penalized for being successful with an unfair share of taxes.

FairTax.org is the BEST WAY TO GO!

Half the plan. Funny how the opposition only listens to the parts they want to.

It happens everywhere and on both sides.

Why do you care? You're in socialist Canada anyway.

Obama is wrong on so many levels. SO MANY. He's unqualified, inexperienced in leadership, a failure as a senator both state and national. He parrots a speech well and that's it. He has not judgment, no wisdom, and no advisors of any quality either.

America is safe now thanks to Mr. Bush. America will be unsafe under Obama.

Did you get to hear a different speech? There was no substantive value to the speech. All I heard was rhetoric, name calling and general platitudes. Not once did anyone make mention of a platform, nor proposals made on how to rectify the quandary the country is currently in.

PALIN: The Great Distraction.

Even McCain's campaign manager said this election is NOT ABOUT ISSUES.
A frightening group of people IMO.

Ah but you see, unlike some folks, we don't live in a vacuum and do have an appreciation that the decisions made by our neighbours in the south do have an impact on our well being.

Based on what I have seen so far, I do believe I would feel much better with Mr.Obama at the helm. Old warriors and gun boat diplomacy do little to enhance the image of America abroad, and are certainly not conducive to establishing a good rapport with the rest of the world.

Safe... You must be delusional if you earnestly believe that. There are probably more groups out to get you today than ever, and it is truly sad to see the fine reputation of the USA being frittered away by the "Hawkish" approach of some of your representatives.

While I can truly appreciate Mr. McCain's "Never Surrender" attitude, blowing the piss out of people has seldom worked in luring combatants to the peace table... that sir is usually the product of negotiations.

I'll butt out when the US decides to butt out of the affairs around the world. Since that's not going to happen any time soon I will take interest in the US if I so please.

To think she could very well be the 45th president of the US because her boss can very well die in office, literally. Shivers at the thought.

eta. Woah I didn't see Hawkeye's post. I would hold back on your insults Sir. No one provoked you here so why the insulting banter? Don't you ever let up?

According to McCain it's anyone that makes over $5,000,000.00.

So middle class must be anyone making $4,999,999.99 or less.

DPC is such a wonderful, far left, liberal place to hang out. Must be a bunch of artists or something. :-)

All the other commie pinko socialist godless Canadians here will remember that's exactly what Prime Minister Kim Campbell said during her election campaign. They will also recall that this comment is considered the reason why her party did not merely lose the election of 1993, but was completely decimated by the electorate with only two seats in the House of Commons, causing them to lose official party status. It was the end for the Conservatives in Canada for a very, very long time.

We can only hope the mass of American voters are as smart in 2008 as Canadians were in 1993.

Just who do you think is going to coming to peace table? We dealt with Iraq peacefully and they made a mockery of the US and the UN. So we dealt with them the proper way. We've not invaded Iran or North Korea. We're using peaceful measures. But without the might to back up the talk, the talk means NOTHING (like an Obama promise).

Terrorists are NOT going to come to the peace table. These nuts HATE US. Not USA, but ALL OF US who are non-Muslim. Not all muslims think that way thank goodness, but these fascists do. And they will not suddenly "wise up" and seek "peace".

No, Obama is dangerous and we will not be safe with him. Don't kid yourself. Our "image" is not what's important. It's the reality. If liberal Europe is too dovish, then tough for them, we'll protect ourselves alone.

A Hawk is ALWAYS what's needed.

I don't trust anyone who's so wealthy they don't know how many houses they own. That's just one indication of how far removed McCain is from issues the ordinary American faces.

She's more qualified than the Democrats #1 and #2 combined. So if she makes you shiver, Obama gives you frost bite.

And sorry, I said nothing insulting in that thread. I called Canada socialist because many of their policies are so.

Source please?

Taxes should be fair and equal for all. (percentage not dollar amount).

Bush's tax cuts were almost that, the top brackets actually got a slightly less cut than did the poor.

Any chance you can turn off the "signature" in your posts?
Scratch that â€Â¦ I just turned it off in my prefs.

On a lighter note ... Did you you this little baby has a John McCain imitation?
She can transform into this peace-loving cutey ...

I was actually talking about that with my oldest son after seeing a Harper ad on TV. I was explaining to him what today's Conservative Party was comprised of. Reform Party Canadian Alliance Party and the then dead Conservative Party.
