I refuse to lose enthusiasm, although my scores are disappointing. That's why they call it "Challenge". Lack of comments from voters is a concern.

Isn't that the reason why they have the real one only every 4 years?
We're - what - 5 weeks into it with only 7 more weeks to go?
Come on we can do this and click thru it :-)

You're a better man than me, Steve. I've pretty much lost all enthusiasm at this point. But it may come back, you never know!

Hi Guys, (Servus)
Just saw this thread of German DPCers. When I was active here there where max 2 or 3 other members in Germany.
I've been pretty quiet for a year or so & will attempt to get back into doing challenges.
I have an entry in Blur II that is doing pretty well.

OTOH, the last 8 votes over the last 2 hours AVERAGED 3.7 !
There's a semi-serious problem here... :>)

Well, hello! I think the only team member in Germany now, is Melethia, the rest are spread out. For the DPC Olympics Teams, the initial requirement was to be born in the country of your team. The rules were much modified by the time the third DPC Olympics began. I believe now we've tried to keep together as a team because we've made new friendships, and are trying to enjoy the help and education we all share.
I look forward to your input and commentary.

Hello aKiwi,
Sorry to tell you, it's about 6 weeks too late to join the team for the DPCO III.
BUT if you want and everyone on the team agrees we could have you as an associate member (or something like that), join our private discussions about entries and scores and ...
These days there are quite a few "real" ;) Germans around.

Do the powers that be accept substitutions? I'm not a real German. I just happen to be living in Germany for a little bit.
10/29/2008 01:49:34 PM · #283
Nope, the rules do not allow for substitutions. That's at least my knowledge.

I pleasure of meeting Joe (Dirt-Diver) this weekend at a DPC get to gather and this subject came up. The answer is pretty clear "NO". No sub, replacement or additions etc. I believe the main reason is that he has some sort of alphabetical speared sheet that he pulls scores with and it is very picky. He dose not want to get into adjusting and taking out or inserting names.

I just saw the thread & thought I'd say HI as I'm living in Germany. I'm actually a New Zealander. Maybe next time around.

Well thanks for stopping by. A Kiwi in germany :) well you will have multiple choices for your selection of a team, if there is a DPCO4.

Posted to the group why I didn't get in....

To your question if we're getting tired of the Olympics, Heini... I'm not. Now that I finally have a bit more time, I'm also more enthusiastic about shooting and entering. Just not happy about these horrific scores. So I'm in for the haul :o)

Maybe we should ask aKiwi to join our group to infuse some fresh blood and new spirit of competition? What do you guys think?
10/31/2008 12:32:04 PM · #289
Old blood freshly spilled?
I don't think I'm allowed to join in the middle of an olympics anyway.
Should I just play cheer leader. I'll put on a miniskirt and grab some pompoms. (Is it OK if I don't shave my legs?)

Hope you all have your Smoke or mirror images sorted. I'm going to try to shoot mine tonight.

hey Heini, Dirt is letting the English team take on another player to replace one, I suggest we do the same here.

Go party dsterner- Sorry, I'm going to bed. The last couple of roll overs have not been fun and I got cold.

Go Team Germany - good luck everybody - great entries this week,

I was up early enough for it.
It was a good rollover. At least I got 6th. But my smoke image seems to not appeal to the masses :(

Congrats, Captain Heini!! A ribbon and everything!

On a less pleasant note, I really thought I had a decent shot at a decent score this time. It is not to be, I fear. I turned on scores to check this morning - started at a 5.6, now at a 5.3 and falling rapidly. Maybe next week? :~( Hmmm. Maybe not next week either. I just checked and it's been two months since I last saw anything in an open challenge in the neighborhood of a six. Apparently, I just keep getting worse!

11/05/2008 06:44:08 AM · #296
On my way to join you, Juliet. Mine is falling HARD. Or my FS is sucking even worse than it did yesterday. Either way, my scores SUCK.
11/05/2008 07:29:46 AM · #297
As predicted 5.0
11/05/2008 07:34:04 AM · #298
my shot sucks so I am not surprised, I predicted it would be at 4.5
11/05/2008 07:41:33 AM · #299
5.1 now. Hate to say this, dear Captain, but I think you led me astray on this one. Apparently it really DOES suck. Sorry, guys.

Thank you for your wishes and comments.
But now reality kicked in: I'm right with all of you barely above 5.0 with my smoke pic.
