I Just tried to focus on a subject using the top point of the 7 point system but I just couldn't get it to focus then I notice the red dot is dimmer than the other 6. I've now tried all the other points and they all focus ok . wondering if anyone else has had the same problem |

Not come across this with mine, I only use the centre point for focusing now anyway.

I just tried it and although, as you indicated, the top AF dot is a little dimmer than the others, it still focused just fine.

set the camera to only use that focus point - and set the lense to auto focus - then aim and try it - if it wont focus then i'd wonder if something is wrong.
it may look dimmer merely because its at the top edge of the viewfinder, and its not centered in your eyes view.

Just found out what was causing it. I had left my Hoya circular polarizing filter on and for some reason it wont focus through that. Works fine with it off and all the other points work with it on, Bit odd but I can live with it. Thought I was going to have the hastle of sending it back to Amazon and being cameraless for months.
Thanks all for trying to help though.
