I'm going to the U.S. Open tennis tournament tomorrow in New York and I really want to bring my camera to get some nice action shots.. I can't find any info on the U.S. Open site regarding wether or not cameras are permitted. Does anyone have experiance with this venue? Please share asap:o)
Thanks,

I've never been to the US open but I saw plenty of point and shoot cameras firing away during Roddick's match earlier on tv.

Try calling the venue, as they are the ones that usually restrict cameras.

how would the justify whether a camera is for commercial use or personal use knowing that SLRs are more and more popular these days? |

Well if it's not on the list it could fall under this:

I went twice this week. The back of the tickets say that no professional photography or video equipment is allowed. I have an E500, which isn't professional, but I didn't bring it anyway because most people think that any camera that has changeable lenses is professional. I saw many many DSLRs at the games, so I think you should be fine. They do have lockers you can rent if they don't want you to bring your camera in. |
