Finally - a flash for my 300D other than the built-in job... I invested in a new Canon 420EX today - what a difference! I have no idea how I have lived so long without it.
Just had to tell someone... :) |

Are,
I have had one (420EX) for some time used with my Canon Elan II film camera. Am now working back and forth between my 300D and the Elan and the flash is absolutely indispensable.

Sure - I took two pictures from same spot - same leaf. One with on-board flash and the second with the 420EX bouncing of the ceiling. Both shots were taken with the EF 18-55 lens at a focal length of 50mm.
Both shots were hand held - aka no stand.

Congrats on a great purchase. I bought a Canon 420EX a few weeks ago and a ST-E2 wireless transmitter to go with the Canon 550EX I already had. Wow! I don't know how I lived without the wireless transmitter. Flexibility is incredible.
