My FF upgraded and I had all kind of problems, this fixed it:

open a command prompt and navigate to the Mozilla Firefox directory

run Firefox with the "-p" modifier and you will get a box to create a new profile then copy over your old settings

i had no homepage, favorites or forward and back buttons and this fixed it

Better security for a number of reasons. Constant updates ensure any bugs that are found are fixed faster. You can easily add additional applications into the browser to greatly expand it's abilities. Crashes less often, and when it does you can restore what you were doing, so not all is lost. The new version actually allows you to open it up to the place it last was even if you closed the window and your computer was turned off. I like this feature because it's sorta like having multiple homepages. My only complaint so far is that my Thinkpad password manager doesn't have full functionality with it yet, but that's nitpicking. I haven't used IE in years though, so IE may have mimicked some of the nice aspects of FF without me realizing it, but I've never had a reason to be displeased with FF and look elsewhere.

I have upgraded to FF3 on 4 of my machines and I love it so far. I was real big on IE7 for a while and refused to go to FF at all but after some time I got use to it and now I just don't see how I did anything without it. hahaha

My upgrade was fine. All settings were transferred automatically.

I was expecting the topic to continue with Opera, not patches...

I think it sucks cause I can't access my bank anymore with FF3. Security issues. No clue how to turn them off in FF3 -part of the pop up blocker I think.

You should be able to set your bank as an exception to allow it to use popups:
tools -->options --> content --> block popup windows exceptions button

Been using Firefox since before it was the Mozilla browser. I love it. Especially with my favorite extensions loaded.

Firefox tip: Uncheck the box shown in the following screenshot, this will keep a many unwanted tracking cookies from getting onto your computer.

Note: If you are still using Firefox v2, this function exists, but not as an easily found checkbox.
