We all know that 5.5 is the average on the voting scale.
I would like to see if the SC or langdon could pull the TRUE DPC average since the beginning of DPC. I would like to see how the true average compares to the scale average.
Would be interesting to see what the Median DPC score.

If I had to guess, I'd guess the average year to year is pretty stable. But what gets a given score probably gets better.
Certainly when I've looked at very old challenges, the shots gettings 7s are nowhere near the quality of what does today.

Yeah thats along the lines of what I was thinking, I guess the averages probably would stay pretty close, still might be interesting to see.

Even though the high scores were really high in the olden days of DPC, the average score was way lower. If you arrange the challenges in challenge history by lowest average, you have to get to around the 50th challenge before you get a challenge from 2008 and around 190th challenge before you get one from 2007. it seems voting was harsh overall but when the voters picked their winner they voted it very highly. I would guess the DPC average has gone up over time. |
