Hi. I'm at a colleague's house trying to use Bridge & Camera Raw (for CS3). When she chooses an image in Bridge, makes changes in Camera Raw, and presses "Done", Bridge does not show the updated file. I've looked through all the settings I can find, but can't seem to find a solution.

I would really appreciate any help! Many thanks!

Don't click Done. Click Open Image and it will open in Photoshop.

Or

Click Save Image and you can choose where and how to save the file.

How do you just save the settings? Do you need to manually create the XMP file if you don't want to create a physical file?

With Adobe Camera Raw it saves it automatically in the .xmp file, because you can close the file after modifying it, close ACR, then reopen and your settings will be there without creating another file or modifying the original. As long as the xmp file is there your settings are in tact. I don't use ACR anymore although I liked it very much when I did. Lightroom is taking up more of my workflow and I have to say I don't mind at all and i'm still using 1.4.

I think that you need to refresh the preview in Bridge for it to show the adjustments.

Even with the current hickups in LR 2.0 I find it much better than 1.4 though eagerly awaiting patches.

Thank you for your responses. Jac, your suggestion of opening or saving the file works, but causes pain because 1) her workflow doesn't include Photoshop until the client orders the image, and 2) saving the file overtop takes much more time. Another computer in her house does this all correctly.

I purged the cache in Bridge, and that seemed to do the trick, but I find it hard to believe that she has to do this every day. BTW, she (and I) would love lightroom, but it's just not in the budget yet!

You might want to look under the Camera Raw preferences and see what is and is not set (ie: ignore xmp files or update jpg) Also under preference there in the Thumbnails part. (ie: Quick thumbnails vs High quality vs convert when reviewed)
