Without commenting on your opinion about 3rd party lenses, I would say that using dpc images as some sort of gauge of the quality or capability of a lens is next to worthless. Processed shots smashed down to 640px on the long side say the lens is able to capture a scene and that's about it.

You have a point, up to a point. But I'd also say that pixel-peeping and obsessing over the tiniest technical differences in image quality aren't the way to go, either.

What might be good, though, is to contact photogs who took shots you might like to see bigger, and ask whether they'd be willing to send you the full-size versions. I can tell you that the two top-scoring shots on Nikon look just as good full-size, which is why they were approved for sale on DPC Prints.

Isn't that tammy only usable on a crop body?????? What are your plans for future bodies..... tempted for full frame??
