I think this is a great idea....are you going to pay for everyone's membership?

Remember, liberals don't like to pay their own way.

:p

Haha. Well, with all the money I got back from our great non liberal president in that Economy boosting refund, I can afford membership! Of course the country is plunged further into debt...but hey, at least we get a site with no conservatives!

:-p

I didn't get a refund/rebate. :/

Which sucks..because my taxes are going to help pay off the debt to China (or whoever we borrowed it from..never really checked) for the refund.

All my friends got it...but because I was a lowly college student last year...a no go for me.

Oh well, my 50inch TV can wait till next year. :D

Can't we just get them all to move to Texas and have Texas secede from the US?

Doesn't texas have a state right(written in their constitution) to leave whenever they wish? Or is that an urban myth?

What are you unhappy with? I know it's meant as a joke, but a photo site only for non-conservatives would be about as silly as an encyclopedia exclusively for conservatives. ;-)

Oh, and speaking about spending, debt, etc.:

Oh that is hilarious. I thought our deficit was more like 6 trillion though. No?

And in answer to your question...about what I mean by the thread...

I was just sick of creating a photograph that might have some element of suggestive content, and having it get thrashed because Jesus frowns upon naked human bodies. I have nothing against religion or conservatives, but I do think if your going to be judging art, you need to be able to separate your personal beliefs sometimes, and understand what the artist was trying to do.

...and yes, I know art is subjective...but at least the technicals of art are somewhat objective...and you can take a non-biased approach to how a photograph was executed..maybe that would help a bit.

You are probably referring to the overall debt.

Yea...that thing. I won't pretend to know things...because I'm completely separated from politics. I just know I'm not comfortable with a grandfather figure in office :-p

I totally understand what you mean. I love your pictures and I find it tragic that the prudes and "conservatives" often take offense (I loved your "Power" entry, for example; maybe you remember the discussion it triggered back then... My comment there expresses my views on the overall issue pretty well.).

Here are some other recent entries I think suffered the wrath of the prude crowd and would have deserved better ratings (they also show that nudity may not be the main problem, the mere hint at something the voters may not like suffices for a rating of 1):

What I find particularly deplorable is when people get upset about things they only studied superficially and don't realize that they actually support their point of view. For example, some Christians oppose books in school that mention drugs or violence, even if they are stories of teens whose lives where destroyed by drugs and violence (which will probably serve as a deterrent for the kids reading the book).

Here's another example with incredible irony: //www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUq2d2OFRkk

Are you one of the many "low information voters" who only know the most basic characteristics of the candidates? Old white dude, young black guy?

I think this election will have a major impact on the future of both the US and the world. Unfortunately, I can't vote. So I'll try to at least encourage people who can to do so. Given the importance of this election and the strong contrast between the two candidates you should feel obliged to get involved. Start by studying the websites of the candidates, for example:

//www.barackobama.com

Now see I guess I'm an oddball here. I'm a christian but I recognize art when I see it. The way I see it the female form is a work of art. As long as I feel it is respected in the photo them I am okay with it.
