Can it be that I´m simply just burnt out?
Photographer for 4 years and then no more..
I just never have ideas or visions anymore, if I happen to take photos I always just find them ill taken and not at all audience worthy. Haven't even bothered to pay my membership fees because I never take photos anymore.
I find this so sad and depressing
Has anyone here had the same problem and fixed it? Or do you have an idea how I can light my candle again because I´m in need of help right now, I’m not quite ready to give up on this yet :)

It happens to many...
Burn out: //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=search&id=369760
Slump: //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=search&id=369758
...not that you shouldn't have your own thread, just thought you might find some useful info there.
...oh wait, you live in Iceland??? No pity. ;-) Just kidding. I'm not helping, am I? I should go now. Consider this a bump for help and I hope you find your way back to shooting, cuz your images are fantastic!
Best,

After looking at your profile...and your equipment list...
This is a temporary fix, but I would suggest a new lens, camera or just something new that will add a new angle to your photography. A new lens opens up a whole new world of creativity and may help you boost your morale and maybe even help you discover something you didn't know you liked. Like long range shots with a long lens. Street photography, nature, etc. Or a macro lens, lots of room for creativity with that, and in your home too, lots of stuff to photograph there.
Hope this helps.

I agree with Jac, new gear might be inspiring. Maybe something completely different like pinhole photography or infrared, something completely new and eye-opening. A local camera club has challenges in which you pull a strip of paper out of 3 different boxes (lens, time of day, type of shot) each with random ideas. So your 3 strips may combine to be: telephoto lens, evening, portrait... or macro lens, daylight, backlit photo. Hope it helps. |
