Hi All,

First of all I love lightroom...........but........

I am reading a book by Martin Evening 'Adobe Photoshop for Photographers' - excellent........anyway...

In it - he talks about using blend modes (in Photoshop) - so when using curves you will (or could) increase colour saturaton so use the luminosity blend mode.....this stops it ..this is one example plenty more...

So now I am thinking - lightroom does not allow for such blend modes - therefore - should i just use bridge as Lightroom is just not as good ?

Whats your thoughts?

cheers

Tony

Why not just import into PS from lightroom to use blend modes if you want? It's been a while since I used bridge, can you even use blend modes in bridge? I thought you still had to go into PS anyway.

thanks - no you cant use blend modes in bridge and your right i would have to use photoshop anyway - but i am coming from the angle that bridge already paid for - and lightroom is an extra,

i have bridge - but actually haven't used it - maybe a couple times. does bridge have the cataloging capabilties lightroom does. filter by lens, shutter speed, ISO, camera, date, keywords... etc.

not really a lean one way or the other, just maybe something to consider.

I used Bridge for years and finally made the switch to Lightroom. I got the 30 day trial so I could do a large batch at once (sucks in bridge and photoshop). I was so blown away by how much editing could be done without photoshop that I now use lightroom for everything. I just purchased 2.0 and haven't played with the spot tools yet but just the amount of time saved and the endless editing possibilities for RAW got me hooked. there is so much you can do in Lightroom that you just can't do in Bridge.
