The Queen of the West cruising slowly down the Columbia River. I snapped this shot this morning while I was fishing. The fishing sucked.

That paddlewheel (entry hint) is probably making enough noise to scare away the fish for a couple of miles.
The lighting is so different between the foreground and far background that it almost looks like a cutout. I'd be tempted to make a mask for the far hills (and maybe the sky) and try to "even it out" a little bit.
At what port do you catch that -- looks like fun? I've only been on the one at Disneyland, and it's not the same ... |

I hadn’t even thought of using as a Wheels entry. I decided not to enter that challenge because I couldn’t think of anything interesting around here with wheels. Doh!

Yes, I went a bit overboard with the color balance in Photoshop. In the original photo the boat and foreground were a bit brighter than the background, making the boat stand out just a little bit. I tried to enhance that, and went too far.

I’m not sure. We see it going by all the time, but I never paid it much attention. I believe it does dinner cruises between Portland and Astoria. We attended a very nice wedding a few years ago that was held on a boat similar to this one. It was lots of fun.
